In the color diagram above it shows
PS2 pin 5 -> DB9 pin 6
PS2 Pin 1 -> DB9 pin 5
This is actually backwards as the diagram bellow illistrates.

The correct pinout is:
PS2 Pin 1 -> DB9 Pin 6
PS2 Pin 3 -> DB9 Ground
PS2 Pin 4 -> DB9 Pins 1, 2, and 9
PS2 Pin 5 -> DB9 Pin 5

The diagram labled "X-Arcade Serial" is the correct one, however the pins on the PS2 are not correctly labled for some odd reason.

Hey! I just now read this comment as I was de-spammifying the other comments. Glad you enjoyed Verhage's. We also have overpriced pumpkins on our porch right now. We skipped out on Gene's Pumpkin Farm this go around (sorry, orange dude) and just bought them at the supermarket. It fits in with our buying an artificial Christmas tree last year--we're trying to increase the fakeness in our lives.

So we ended up going to Verhage where we bought some cider and plain doughnuts. Both Jen and I are fans of plain doughnuts with cider so Verhage seemed like the right place. We also bought 2 overpriced pumpkins, which are being rained on now on our patio. Thanks for the recommendations!

You should have conducted an experiment. You should have replaced the Coke with Pepsi, but not told anyone. Then see how many comments you get from people saying the Coke tastes funny. I bet most people wouldn't even notice. They are all too concerned with getting their sugar fix.
